March 20th, 2017 by Saurabh MahapatraIndia’s state-owned power transmission infrastructure developer has signed an agreement for $500 million in debt financing to set up dedicated transmission lines for renewable energy projects. Last month, Power Grid Corporation of India (PGCIL) reported that it signed an agreement to secure $500 million of debt funding from the Asian Development Bank. A large portion of these funds are expected to be used to set up transmission lines dedicated for the transfer of electricity generated from renewable energy projects.
